The Row River Review is a community-powered newspaper, published every other month, and created to keep Row River Valley residents informed, inspired, and connected. Sponsored by the Row River Valley Community Partnership (RRVCP), the Review is mailed to over 500 households across the valley and also published online as a digital blog with extended features, videos, and interactive content.

Whether you’re looking for updates on wildfire preparedness, local events, school happenings, or neighbor-led projects, The Row River Review is your trusted source for what’s happening in our valley.

Our Goals & Mission

The mission of The Row River Review is to strengthen community resilience, encourage preparedness, and celebrate the people and projects shaping the future of the Row River Valley.

We aim to:

  • Promote wildfire safety, home hardening, and defensible space education
  • Support neighbor-to-neighbor connections
  • Share community success stories and personal experiences
  • Provide a reliable platform for local information and announcements
  • Build partnerships that benefit the whole valley

What We’re Looking For

We welcome photo, video, article, and announcement submissions that align with our mission and content focus. Accepted content includes:

  • Community Updates – Information about local initiatives, events, or preparedness projects.
  • Personal Stories – Experiences that highlight community connection, wildfire readiness, or local resilience.
  • Event Announcements – Meetings, gatherings, fundraisers, workshops, and local happenings.
  • Celebrations – Milestones, achievements, or shout-outs for individuals and groups making a difference.
  • Local Services & Resources – Info about available help, tools, or community programs.

Multimedia (Photo/Video) Guidelines

  • Must be high-quality, respectful, and suitable for a general audience.
  • Ensure you have permission from any individuals shown.
  • No copyrighted material unless you are the rights holder or have clear permission.

What We Don’t Accept

To maintain a safe and inclusive space, we do not accept submissions that include:

  • Offensive or discriminatory language or imagery
  • Political endorsements or divisive content
  • Personal attacks, defamation, or unverified claims
  • Explicit or suggestive material
  • No graphic, violent, or unsafe content.
  • Promotion of commercial products or services without prior agreement
  • Any content unrelated to the Row River Valley or the mission of RRVCP

How to Submit

Please send all content to Communications@RowRiverValley.Org

Include your name, contact info, a short description, and your relationship to the subject matter (if applicable).

By submitting, you grant The Row River Review permission to publish and edit for clarity, length, and appropriateness.

Deadlines & Timing

We publish every two months.

Send all content by the 20th of the month before publication. For example, submit by April 20, for the May issue.

Include:

  • Your name and contact info
  • Type of submission (event, story, etc.)
  • Any relevant links or background info
  • Signed photo release form (if submitting identifiable images) Contact Laura Bee at Communications@RowRiverValley.org

Submitting to the Community Event Calendar

  • To add your event to The Row River Review calendar, please send us the who, what, day/time, and where- address—along with a brief why to introduce your event’s purpose or importance.
  • Include the name of the event, date and time, location, hosting group or individual, and a short description (1–2 sentences) that tells readers why they should attend.
  • Send your submission by the 20th of the month prior to publication. 2025 Deadlines: May 20th, July 20th, September 20th, November 20th

Example: We are inviting the community to our next event to let them know about our new name change. RRVCP All Community Meeting, Sunday, January 29, 2022, at 2:00 pm Dorena School, + ADDRESS

Article Submission Format

  • Word Count: Up to 2-300 words per article or item, unless otherwise arranged with the Editor
  • File Type: Word doc, Google doc, or pasted into email body (No PDF)
  • Font: Please do not apply styling; we will format for publication
  • Photos: Attach high-quality images separately with captions and credit

Review & Publishing Notes

  • All submissions are subject to editing for clarity, length, and tone
  • We reserve the right to decline any content that doesn’t meet our guidelines
  • Not all submissions are guaranteed to be published, but we’ll do our best to include as many community voices as possible

As we are beginning, we are not charging for distribution. In the future we MAY seek a conversation about supporting this endeavor. In which case, our starting point may look something like this:

  • 1/2 Page – $50/issue, $200/6 issues
  • Full Page – $75/issue, $300/6 issues
  • Centerfold + 1-2 pages – $200/issue, $600/6 issues

As a Partner Sponsor, you can:

  • Contribute community updates or original content
  • Sponsor and be featured in a Special Edition
  • Sponsor specific newspaper sections (e.g., Calendar, Youth Corner, “Fire Facts”)
  • Host or co-host events with the Row River Valley Community Partnership (RRVCP)
  • Access extended ad space or in-kind trade opportunities
  • Be showcased in our rotating “Partner Spotlight”
  • Or any and all of the above!

We offer flexibility to match your sponsorship to your goals, whether that’s highlighting your business, promoting an event, or sharing a story that matters to you.
