Row River Valley Community Partnership and the Row River Rural Fire Protection District are grateful for the leadership and support of Congresswoman Val Hoyle and her Community Project Funding team for their guidance, professionalism, and support throughout the submission process.
A special thank you to Elizabeth Wilson, Zac Otjen, Sean Higgins, Valeria, and Chidiebere Nwankpa for helping navigate a complex process and ensuring our rural community’s voice was heard.
Representing Oregon’s Fourth Congressional District, Congresswoman Hoyle has consistently advocated for rural communities, public safety, infrastructure, and the needs of working families. Throughout the federal appropriations process, her office took the time to learn about our community, understand the unique challenges facing our rural valley, and guide us through the House Community Project Funding process.
The proposed Main Fire Station would serve more than 1,200 residents in an isolated rural corridor with a single ingress and egress route, helping strengthen emergency response capabilities in a high wildfire-risk area while protecting vulnerable residents, critical watershed resources, and important community assets.
From the earliest discussions through project development and submission, Congresswoman Hoyle’s office provided thoughtful guidance and assistance every step of the way. Their willingness to listen, answer questions, and help navigate a complex federal process made it possible for our small rural community to bring its vision forward for consideration.
We would also like to recognize Governor Tina Kotek and her team, particularly Regional Solutions Coordinator Courtney Flathers, whose thoughtful guidance and continued support helped connect our community with resources, navigate complex processes, and advance this effort at critical stages of development.
While the project remains under review, advancing to consideration within the House Appropriations Committee represents an important milestone for our community. We are grateful to Congresswoman Hoyle and her staff for their partnership and commitment to helping rural Oregon communities build a safer and more resilient future.
