How You Can Help

Life in the Row River Valley has always depended on neighbors looking out for one another and caring for the land we share. With one main road in and out, high wildfire risk, and limited services, community connection is not optional here, it is how we stay safe.

Row River Valley Community Partnership exists to support that way of life. There are many ways to help, whether you live in the valley, visit the area, or care about protecting this place for the future.

Lend a Hand Locally

Much of our work happens close to home, on trails, along waterways, and in neighborhoods. Volunteers help keep shared spaces usable, safe, and cared for.

You might help with:

  • Stewardship along the Disston Pathway or Row River corridor

  • Community gatherings focused on safety, preparedness, and connection

  • Checking in on neighbors who need a little extra support

  • Light maintenance and observation of shared rural spaces

  • Behind-the-scenes help that keeps projects moving

No special skills are required. Many people start by simply showing up and getting to know others.

Be Part of a Neighborhood Team

Neighborhood Teams are small groups of neighbors who stay connected and help one another, especially during wildfire season or emergencies. This might look like sharing information, helping with defensible space, or checking on an elder during extreme weather.

Teams are informal and shaped by the people in each area. Participation can be as much or as little as works for you.

Support the Valley’s Work

Financial contributions help us do the unglamorous but essential work of rural stewardship: keeping access routes clear, protecting waterways, supporting emergency readiness, and filling gaps that no agency covers.

Donations stay local and support projects that reflect the needs and priorities of the Row River Valley.

Work With Us

We regularly work alongside local landowners, volunteers, agencies, and organizations who care about this place. Partnerships can be simple or complex, from sharing equipment or expertise to working together on long-term solutions.

If you have an idea or see a need, we are open to the conversation.

Stay in the Loop

Not everyone can volunteer or donate, and that is okay. Staying informed and engaged matters too. We share updates through community meetings, local events, and the Row River Review, which is mailed throughout the valley.

Let’s Talk

If you are unsure how to get involved, reach out. We believe the best work starts with listening.

Together, we can keep the Row River Valley connected, cared for, and resilient.
