With gratitude to the Oregon State Fire Marshal for sponsoring the Row River Review from May 2025 through August 2026 and helping bring safety information and community news directly to our valley. Will you help sponsor our next issue?
The Row River Review was created to keep the people of the Row River Valley informed, connected, and prepared.
Six times each year, we gather the news and information that matters to our rural community. Each edition includes updates on emergency services, wildfire preparedness, local organizations, schools, public meetings, community projects, upcoming events, and the neighbors whose work makes this valley stronger.
In a valley where internet and cell service remain limited, printed information still matters. The Row River Review is mailed to approximately 500 homes reaching over 1200 people throughout Dorena, Culp Creek, and Disston. Additional copies are distributed at locations throughout Cottage Grove, the Review is sent through our newsletter reaching an additional 216 subscribers, and every issue is posted online.
This allows important safety and community information to reach residents in several different ways, including people who may not regularly use social media or have dependable internet access.
A Community Newspaper With a Community Purpose
The Row River Review helps neighbors understand what is happening across the valley and how they can become involved.
Through each issue, residents can:
* Follow the development of local fire stations and emergency services
* Learn how to prepare their homes and families for wildfire and other emergencies
* Find community meetings, programs, resources, and volunteer opportunities
* Receive updates from the Water District, Fire District, schools, and community organizations
* Learn about Neighborhood Teams and other neighbor-led efforts
* Celebrate local history, wildlife, businesses, volunteers, and accomplishments
* Hear directly from the people working to strengthen the Row River Valley
The Review gives our geographically spread-out community a shared and reliable source of information. It helps residents know what resources are available, what challenges are ahead, and how neighbors are working together to address them.
Will You Help Sponsor the Row River Review?
Producing and distributing each issue costs approximately $1,800.
A full sponsorship of one issue is $2,000. A full-year sponsorship covering all six annual issues is $10,900. Partial sponsorships are also greatly appreciated. Businesses, organizations, foundations, and individuals can contribute at any level or join together to help support an issue.
Sponsorship helps cover the planning, preparation, printing, mailing, community distribution, and online publication of the Review. Most importantly, it allows the newspaper to continue reaching Row River Valley households without charge.
What Your Sponsorship Makes Possible
Each year, sponsor support helps us produce six issues and reach:
* Approximately 500 Row River Valley homes by mail
* Readers through community distribution locations in Cottage Grove
* 216 newsletter subscribers
* Additional readers through the online publication
Behind those numbers are older adults aging in place, families preparing for wildfire, residents seeking reliable emergency information, volunteers looking for ways to help, and neighbors who want to remain connected to the community they call home.
A sponsored issue may carry news about a new Neighborhood Team, fire station progress, emergency preparation, community events, local services, or an opportunity for a resident to receive assistance. The value of the Review is not found only in the number of copies distributed. It is found in what neighbors can do with the information once it reaches them.
