The Row River Christian Fellowship has stood in the Row River Valley for generations. Like many older rural buildings, however, time and Oregon weather have taken their toll.
Now, the Woodard Family Foundation has provided a tremendous opportunity to help preserve this important community building with a **$25,000 challenge grant**. For every dollar raised for the renovation project, the Foundation will provide a matching dollar, up to $25,000.
That means our community has the opportunity to turn **$25,000 in donations into $50,000 in improvements.**
Work on the building is already underway. The roof and bellfry have been completed, protecting two of the most important parts of the structure. Attention is now turning to the exterior, where aging windows, deteriorating window frames, and years of water exposure have caused decay, particularly around the lower portions of the building and beneath the windows.
These aren’t cosmetic repairs. They are the kind of repairs that need to be made now to prevent water intrusion and deterioration from becoming much larger and more expensive structural problems.
The Row River Christian Fellowship is also more than an old church building. It has become a gathering place for the broader Row River Valley, providing space for community organizations, meetings, programs, neighbors, and emergency preparedness efforts. Preserving the building means preserving a place that continues to serve people throughout the valley.
The Woodard Family Foundation’s challenge gives us an opportunity to build on the work already completed and stretch every contribution twice as far.
A $25 donation becomes $50.
A $100 donation becomes $200.
A $500 donation becomes $1,000.
Our goal is to raise the full $25,000 needed to unlock the Foundation’s entire challenge grant and put **$50,000 toward protecting and restoring this historic community building.
For an old building that has served this valley for many years, these repairs are an investment in keeping it here and useful for the generations ahead.
