Post-Wildfire Forest Recovery Assistance for Row River Valley Landowners
The Row River Valley Community Partnership (RRVCP) is partnering with local and regional organizations to assist property owners affected by the 2024 Cottage Grove Complex Fire.
Through funding from the Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board (OWEB), our team is launching a Post-Wildfire Restoration Planning Project to help forest and landowners evaluate and restore areas impacted by wildfire.
Our first partner coordination meeting for this project was held on September 29, 2024. Additional coordination meetings and landowner sessions will follow as planning advances.
Participation in the program is voluntary and free of charge. Landowners can receive technical guidance on:
- Stabilizing burned slopes and reducing erosion or runoff
- Promoting healthy forest regrowth and reducing invasive species
- Reestablishing vegetation along waterways and drainages
- Identifying long term management and fire mitigation strategies
Our technical partners bring valuable expertise and on the ground knowledge:
- Coast Fork Willamette Watershed Council — watershed science, restoration planning, and community engagement
- Upper Willamette Soil & Water Conservation District — technical assistance for soil health, replanting, and slope stabilization
- Spirit of Bohemia Mining Days — local history, cultural resilience, and community recovery efforts
If your property was affected by the Cottage Grove Complex Fire and you would like to participate, we invite you to join our efforts.
